Information about the project "In Relation" (2024-)
In Relation is an ongoing photographic project exploring intimacy, proximity and transformation within a long-term relationship. This submission presents a seven-image sequence from that ongoing work.
The photographs return to small shifts in proximity—how bodies share space, how distance appears and how intimacy can change over time. The work avoids explaining specific events; instead, it stays close to moments that feel negotiated: what is offered, what is withheld, what becomes noticeable and what remains private—shaped by duration, trust and lived experience.
Trust can be understood as both method and theme here: it develops through consent and mutual attention and it can be tested in subtle decisions. Repetition and restraint keep the images open—closer to observation than statement. The final image, showing cut hair, emerged from a personal situation and may read less as an explanation than as a quiet marker of transition and decision.
The project is developed in close collaboration with my partner, whose agency and consent guide how the work is made and shown.
